TEAM_3 "cultural gate of Bratislava"
Millitary Barracks are now creating a dead point at ending Obchodna Street and Kollar Square. But there is big possibility to make it the best ending point and area for meeting many people and opening new way to the river.
That nessesery thing which is needed to be done is to tear the walls down and open this strategic place.But as barracks are standing there for so long time we don’t want to destroy the building completely. So the way for us is to perfore the walls and make place inside connected with neighbouring streets and square.

PERFORATION as the main idea of our design is used in three ways –in the way of opening the area, presentating the building and making the courtyard interesting for many people. By perforating the barracks we wanted to open and join bigger way starting in front of Gassalkovich Palace leading to the river Danube, Eurovea and New Theatre. This way is joining many cultural activities that have a seat in the neighbourhood.
With joining this big cultural way our building will become important house full of cultural activities open for everyone. And completing our idea, the courtyard as the most important place will host many activities and possibilities for spending time in different ways… I see it it my mind… relaxing in hammock, smelling grat meals from restaurant, on the stage are playing some students their songs and many people ape coming and enjoying their time in pleasat atmosphere of barracks.
